Collective Agreement Mgeu

Now that the treaty has been ratified, the negotiating committee will meet with its employer to conclude and sign the agreement on pressure and distribution to members. On April 22, MGEU/NUPGE members working at Manitoba Housing ratified a new five-year contract. However, the new five-year contract (March 22, 2014 to March 29, 2019) provides in January 2016 that public service members have ratified a new agreement that avoids arbitration and that the Manitoba Housing Bargaining Committee has been able to resume negotiations with the employer. Winnipeg (April 26, 2016) – Members of the Manitoba government and the General Workers Union (MGEU/NUPGE) from three different bargaining units have recently ratified new collective agreements. Also on 22 April, MGEU/NUPGE members working at Career Connections voted on 22 April, after receiving a final offer from the employer, in favour of ratifying a new three-year contract. Members who work with clients with physical and mental disabilities in Brandon receive salary increases each year of the contract. On April 22, MGEU/NUPGE members working as interpreters at the Manitoba Agricultural Services Corporation (MASC) ratified a new five-year contract. The BuFA represents all academic and pedagogical staff, including laboratory professors, cartographers, advisors, professional librarians, continuing education specialists and all other staff directly involved in the teaching process, with the exception of deans. Brandon University employs faculty, administration and support staff.

The majority of regular employees are in certified collective agreement units, four of which are issued below. Brandon University also employs session professors and field experience supervisors and short-term staff. IUOE (D) represents cleaners, construction workers and horticulturists. Manitoba Housing is a single employer that employs both public service and public service employees in the same organization. When members of the public service applied for arbitration in the spring of 2015, it made no sense to continue negotiations with some of the members awaiting the outcome of the arbitration. Mgeu represents the staff of the office, library, technology and catering. The new five-year contract involves job security in a period of potential uncertainty and does not involve any concessions.

Every year, there are salary increases, an increase in the health expense account and the introduction of a weekend bonus. MGEU/NUPGE members negotiated improvements in wages, benefits and job security. These MGEU/NUPGE members help provide the many agricultural services provided by the Crown Group, including field inspections and risk adaptations for plant insurance programs offered through MASC. PSAC represents scientific assistants, student assistants, academic residency assistants, ambassador students, tutors and all other students.
